B&W cameras have always been frowned upon, but what most people don’t know is that B&W cameras can do many things better than color cameras when it comes to security applications.
For Example, black and white cameras have lower lux sensitivity which means that they can see better in low light environments, some of them are near infrared capable!.
Another reason why black and white cameras are much better for security applications is that the video collected from the security camera is much easier to enhance with video editing software, and therefore you are more likely to get a better deal of detail.
