How do you have to set it to work.does it cover up close like talking on a bar stool and how far away like 20? In a room.how sensitive is the audio.

1. Do not sit near the speakers or tv
2. Public places are generally loud, pick a spot away from the main door and if possible not too loud.
3. Place your recorder in plain sight if possible.

This camera has very good range, however if you are looking for best quality we suggest you consider this other keyfob spy camera too.
Does the video feed to wifi phone or is an ad card that has to be uploaded onto a computer?

Thanks for reaching out. This vehicle door fob camera is not a wifi camera. This car key camera will store video footage and other recordings to a memory card (sold separately). You can then remove the card and using your computer or compatible mobile device you can review the recorded files. No special software is required!
if this is inside a diaper bag can it still gather audio or does it just gather footage.

Thank you for asking your question. This Spy car key camera will record sound and video at the same time. If you place the camera in a diaper bag or pocket, the camera will not see anything so your video will likely be a black screen. You might still be able to record the sound, however it depends on the placement of the camera in the bag or pocket. If the microphone is too muffled then it wont record sound because the microphone will be obstructed.

If you are looking to record sound only, you might find the sound recorders a better fit as their microphone is better and might support your way of use better.
