On the Hunt for Bigfoot

Posted by Diana E on

It goes by many names around the world: The Abominable Snowman, Yeti, Skoocooms, Ts'emekwes, Sasquatch, Yeren, Hibagon – but you probably know it best as Bigfoot.

Bigfoot sighting
Descriptions of the creature vary, with his height being between 6.5-10 feet tall and covered in brown to reddish fur. He shares common features as modern day humans as well as those of apes and bears. Standing tall on his two signature large feet, he has eluded capture and study while walking through the pages of history.

Tales of the giant ape-like creature go back in written history approximately 4000 years and there have been tales of sightings, stories, and interactions in many cultures all over the world ever since. The history surrounding this creature is a mixture of legend, myth, and media.

The search for this creature has led to the creation of the modern day Bigfoot hunters – individuals determined to find and document evidence of the existence of Bigfoot. With modern technology, the ability of these hunters to capture the creature on film or video has brought the hunt into the digital age.

But what would one need, to hunt for the elusive Bigfoot?

Surveillance Camera Equipment:

The primary method of gathering evidence of Bigfoot is most definitely surveillance camera equipment. How else is one to prove its existence to the world? Though this is not an exhaustive list, the successful Bigfoot hunter would need these at a minimum:

Tracking Equipment:

  • GPS tracking device
  • Sound amplification technology
  • Binoculars
  • Maps

It is important to be aware of your surroundings and have the ability to amplify your own senses to gain an advantage over Bigfoot in his own element. You can document your search locations as well as any possible sightings via GPS and share with your fellow hunters. Chances are that you will hear Bigfoot before you see him, which is why you need a portable device to amplify sound and binoculars to see him before he sees you.

Personal Security Equipment:

    • Animal strength pepper spray
    • Communication equipment (phone, radio, etc)
    • Large caliber firearm
    • Escape vehicle

Just in case you find yourself face-to-face with Bigfoot, it helps to be prepared. If the hunter becomes the hunted, it helps to have a quick release animal strength pepper spray to fend off the creature should he attack you.

The best thing to do in that situation is escape and call for backup. If the creature corners you, there may be no other choice than to take him out with a couple of well-placed shots to the head or torso with a large caliber rifle or pistol.

Whatever your Bigfoot needs may be, we are here to help equip you for the ultimate hunt.
